Gokotta Cottage: Cozy forest retreat w/ lake views

This lovely, spacious home near Two Harbors offers breathtaking views of Superior Lake and the lush surrounding forest. Tessa was wonderful- very responsive and quick to accommodate our last-minute reservation!

Great spot to stay! The phots and description were accurate, it was exactly what we expected and wanted. Very quiet and peaceful location. The home is relaxing and had everything we needed.

We needed a place to stay on the superior north shore in a pinch (due to poor weather ruining our plans to tent camp). This cabin was perfect for our family of 4 and little dog.

My wife and I visited here as part of a North Shore trip for her birthday, and it was a wonderful little mountaintop haven. The view from the deck alone is worth the trip—actual miles of Lake Superior stretching across the horizon. We would wake up, spend the morning drinking coffee and reading Aurelius on the deck, and happily soaking in the sunshine and savoring the unparalleled vista.

Betty’s Pies was just close enough to the location for us to hop on our electric bikes and enjoy the easy, scenic, back-country ride, culminating of course in the happy indulgence of celebratory birthday pie. It was honestly just the mix of relaxation, peace, and beauty that our tiring souls were in need of at the end of our trip, and our host was entirely thoughtful, communicative, and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed my stay! They are not kidding that you need 4-wheel drive if there's snow, that driveway is steep! But it leads you to a lovely home tucked away up on a hill with amazing views from the upstairs balcony. If you want seclusion with peace and quiet, this is the place!

Great stay for a weekend to enjoy the North Shore. Super family friendly - our girls loved the bunk beds! Surrounded by trees, quiet and peaceful, but still close to Two Harbors for groceries and restaurants. Would absolutely recommend and will be back!

We had an incredible stay! The home was welcoming and the perfect setup for my young family. Our kids loved the bunk beds and we loved that the whole second level was open and spacious. We enjoyed roasting s’mores around the bonfire in the private yard. The views from the deck of Lake Superior and the fall foliage were breathtaking! The home was well kept and very clean! It had everything we needed and was conveniently located near trails and Two Harbors. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

We loved staying at Todd and Tessa's place! The property was scenic, quiet, and our family had a great time relaxing and sitting around the fire in the evenings. It was so close to Two Harbors - an easy 15 minute drive to everything we needed. Would definitely recommend!

We had a great time at Todd and Tessa’s Cottage. It’s very private in the woods, but only a short drive to the stores and restaurants of Two Harbors. Beautiful view of the lake from the top balcony. There was a good amount of space for us and our two kids, and even though the bedroom is not separated with a door, it’s upstairs and the kitchen/living area are on the ground floor, so with a white noise machine our kids slept well while we were still up downstairs. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen well stocked. We had a great time and would stay again!

Great location just outside of Two Harbors and a very short drive to many North Shore destinations! A very peaceful setting atop a wooded overlook, views of ships passing on Lake Superior from the second story! House was thoughtfully furnished in a way that was great for the whole family (inclusive of young kids) - free of clutter and “kid-proof” ! Hosts were friendly, helpful and responsive!
